As ADD as the day is long.......

WOW!

I have so many things brewing right now and they are all super exciting....

I can not stick to one project ever...I just jump all around and then finally get things done...

So here is a peek at what has been happening in my ADD World....

The master bedroom.....the redo almost complete..but a glimpse at my morning.

A silver lining to an otherwise horrid day....sweetest shop.

Can not wait to tell you about this amazing place.

This will be a DIY for my front porch....yeah!

My 13 year old is an amazing gardener.....headboard used as a tomato cage....sweet!

RED!!!  cant ever have enough.

Three doors that will soon be transformed into serious coolness.

Chocolate zucchini bread....no eggs no nuts ....all yummm.

Donating your old when you buy the new....so cool.

Super cool and kinda gross.

My girl is an artist...cant wait to show you her style.

Amazing house.......

built in 1885......

I just about died when we pulled up......"dreammmy"

My girl can paint.

Ceiling tiles from salvage....rusty goodness soon to be porch gorgeous.

The star with my silver lining shop.

Photos are fussy....... I need to stop with the Insta Gram and use my real camera....oh well...learning.

Bring it!!

So I do not normally do quick posts....
I write them, rewrite them , edit them and then MAYBE hit publish.

But today is different.
Today I need to give my soul a breath.
A long deep cleansing breath.

My little man has panic attacks.  I dont know if you have ever had them or held someone through one.  But is is humbling.

He had a bad one this morning.  We prayed through it, we breathed, we held each other and he was ok.

I ran out to the grocery.  Millions of things on my mind.  Filled my buggy in record time and had coupons.  I loves me so coupons.

And ......no wallet.
Yeap!

Pizza got ordered last night and the wallet never make it back in.....hummmm.

OK....no biggy ..
I had some coupons for free stuff and some money makers so I did not leave empty handed.

Headed home....
Got the wallet , picked up little man, who looked and felt much better.

Got on our way back to the grocery....little man starts to get uncomfortable.

This is his new normal as of late.
Having complete understanding of what he is going through.
We start breathing through our feelings.  Remembering that our brain can play tricks on us and that we are all good.

That is when the cop pulled me over.

And my little man looses it....all over the car.

And why did I get pulled over......

Expired safety inspection tag..................REALLY!!!!

I dont even know what one is or where the heck it is for that matter.

Fortunately hubby was not in  a meeting and was able to get on the cell and talk little man down....while I dealt with the cop.

We did our shopping while chatting with daddy on the phone and all quieted down.

And then the tears.

I am not a crier.  I choked them back...I did not want to give little man any more stress then his little self already had....

I was messing with my keys ......and I saw it...

So, BRING IT!!!

It is only noon.

From dark to daring....more chalkboard paint fun!!

I know I have said it before....but incase you are joining me for the first time.....
I LOVE CHALKBOARD PAINT!!!!!!

The hardest working spot in our home.
My house works hard.  There isnt a space that isnt always busy and cluttered.

I am not much of a house keeper....I am more of a "homemaker".

I like it that way... I would love to be able to have one of those museum type houses, where the kids dont dare come in with their shoes on and the dinning room table is set like the queen herself is coming to dinner at a moments notice.

But what fun would that be....NOT!!

The hallway from the garage, with pantry and laundry.....

We have been here in this house for two years this August 18.

We make a mission statement each year for our family and I have some personal ones too.

I have lived in other homes for years....and never had them the way I liked...Only to have to repaint an re-carpet to sell the place.

 What joy is that???  NONE!!

So this  house is going to be joyful from the get go.

This is my mission for the year...each room needs to reflect who we are and needs to bring joy!!

And the hardest working place is the utility hall..and it..needed some LOVE.

What better way to show LOVE then with chalkboard paint......Yes!!

THE ENTIER WALL BABY!!

The kids were helping me so I had to entertain them with the mustache...they are big in our house..

It did not take long before the wall was done...

Off came the door...love having a handy 13 year old boy...Go William!

Out to the garage for some serious fun!

I love the colors of Key West..but careful, the key lime colors will make your house GLOW!

So many cute greens......

This is "Sweet Pea" from Benjamin Moore.

You wouldn't think it would be that bright, but WOW!  Does it pop!

This Aura is amazing it would cover in one coat..if you were a careful painter.....unlike me.

Love it!!!
JOY!!
My love note.....

The wall has been done for a few weeks.
I love the hungry monster....
I did not write that.....

Dirty Little Secrets!

MUAHHHHHH!!!

 We all have them....
Those dirty little secrets...and with four kids I have a ton of them...

Tips!!

So, I thought I would start by sharing that I firmly believe that all kids need "Life Skills".
This was a big part of our day in home schooling.
Each kid has a checklist of their 1 thru 7.  That need to be done each morning.

This is the simple stuff.....breakfast, make bed, teeth....you know..the routine.

The big kids did not have a physical list, but the littles had a picture page on the back of their door to remind them....

And now that we are in school the list is different and some things have changed but "Life Skills" are still alive and well...

Each kid has a laundry day...even the eight year old..she has been doing towels since she was five.

I leave notes to help them out.....lol

Blessings....

Shine the light on me!!

Repurposing old treasures into everyday joys!!

Send me your broken!!
Send me your rusted!!
Send me your "hate that thing"!

We all have a stash of these items.

The stuff that was you at one time, but we change and we replace and we HUNT!

But what we dont do is toss.

I should toss more, but I fear that I will miss my treasures..... ya know what I  mean...

Here is a perfect example.....

Lamps.....

Bought ten years ago from Kirkland's......
Matchy matchy, brown with a pineapple thing on top.....and cheap.

They worked hard...got dinged up ...broken...repaired...well sort of and stuffed in "the closet".

I have been working on the master bedroom......in this new house for over a year.

It just was not coming together for me....I wanted Swedish White and Gray....clean lines....

WEllllll....not happening.....

In the mean time I got into a red spray paint mood and started hitting all my old stuff with it.

The lamps included.....they looked super cute.

But still in the closet....did not want to keep those lamps.....dont know why...just wanted NEW!

Well this weekend i was sick of looking at the all white walls in the master....they were dark and I mean dark blue.....so I painted them "steam" by Benjamin Moore.  Super bright and airy....and no color in the room at all.....

So, I went HUNTING...in my own closet....and the "Lazarus Lamps" jumped out at me.....

I was inspired by the red and the need to brighten up my once "clean lined" all white Master Bedroom.

Soooo..... I screwed them together again...tightened them as best they could and added Estate jewlery and other sparkels....cause I loves me some SPARKLE!

And  Cute..CUte  Cute!!

I guess this goes to show me that...even though you love what you see in the magazines....ie..the all white rooms..and how badly we want that image to be our reality....NOT!!

You just got to be you.....
AND I NEED SPARKLE!

So let the light shine in ............and up-cycle  those old treasures.
